The treatment is good, but insurance billing fraud is happening here. Be aware of the intermediary insurance representative, who uses manipulative tactics to get extra co-pay from the customer, regardless of the benefits provided by the insurance. I have proof. For the viewers - read your post insurance claim mails to get clarity form your actual bill!

We visited Dr Ashok's Eye Hospital for cataract surgery with one eye having a retinal complication. Cataract procedure was done in both the eyes and we are satisfied with the overall experience.
Since Dr Ashok Rangarajan himself is directly treating and operating on the patient, his personal involvement and onus for the well being of the patient makes it a pleasant and effective experience. The entire process was easy, uncomplicated and patient friendly.

Muly mom undergone cataract surgery . Although treatment was good their insurance claim process was pathetic. Person who initiated the insurance process do not have good knowledge. While asked for a cashless claim, they submitted an amount of 8000 rupees and mentioned as non medical expenses. When asked for bill spilt for those 8000 they did not answer. Later through insurance company we initiated query asking the bill split of 8000, for which hospital replied as room rent and nursing chargers. Although room rent and nurse charges were already claimed through cashless process, they are asking patient to pay additional 8000 naming non medical for which they are not proving bills to patient
I am really surprised and asked how they can ask patient to pay 8000 rupees without giving explanation or corresponding bills. The answer from hospital was we do same for every one.
It is really cheating. Not sure how many patients visit will actually check the claim components thye submit. I suggest every one to carefully review all the claim details they submit insurer and also non medical expenses we were asked to pay from pocket.if you are not carefully they will make you pay in thousands without knowing why we have to pay

We were pretty nervous about the surgery beforehand, but Dr. Ashok Rangarajan and his team at Dr. Ashok Eye Hospital (Unit of Centre For Eye and Health Care) made the whole process so stress-free. Dr. Ashok is incredibly skilled, but what really stood out was how patient and kind he was with us. The nurses and the front office staff were just as helpful, making sure we knew exactly what was happening at every step. Turn around time is sooo late. If you're visiting please allocate sufficient time cos they're very very slow. To hand out the prescription from the doc they take min 10-15mins.

It's the worst place for testing your eye properly. The staff was very harsh, not even friendly to a patient comes with headache. The drops they use to test is the worst one which blurrs your vision for 3 days which is not meant for adults. They didn't properly checked my power when I rechecked it with a proper eye hospital it has variations. Please don't go there if you want proper care and treatment for your eyes. They wasted my work for 3 days with nothing fruitful at the end except more headache.

I consulted Dr. Ashok Rangarajan for a second opinion on my father's complex retina condition, and the experience was excellent. My father is 70, diabetic for over two decades, and had undergone vitrectomy and cataract surgery on his right eye. After years of treatment elsewhere with little explanation, Dr. Ashok took the time to examine both eyes thoroughly and explain everything clearly.
What stood out was his honesty and patience. He laid out a realistic treatment plan for the right eye, was upfront about what could and could not be improved, and importantly gave my father reassurance about his fears. As someone supporting my parents from overseas, I also deeply appreciated the detailed written case summary, which made it easy for me to understand and follow up.
The clinic is well run and the staff were courteous. If you are looking for a retina specialist who genuinely listens and explains, I would highly recommend Dr. Ashok.

I came for an severe pain, redness,watering in my right eye. I can't do any work.so I went to dr.ahok eye hospital. The doctor checked and said that it's a viral infection.
Doctor prescribed 2 eye drops for 3 days.but I using the drops for only one day all are clear,pain reduced,now I am very fine.thanks to dr.ashok sir you are an extraordinary intelligent doctor.

Very good private eye hospital on OMR Opposite Geetham Restaurant in Duraipakkam. Visited for my wife’s cataract problem. On my first visit itself all tests were done and operation date fixed after a week. The operation went smoothly and came back in few hours. Dr.Ashok is a highly qualified and experienced doctor. His approach to patient is commendable. He himself examines all the patients. Supporting staff & reception staff are highly professional. Medicines etc. are all available. All tests are done here. Very experienced doctor,
I got redness and a minor swelling in my left eye, so i went to him, he just diagnosed me for less than 3 mins and said, "you got a viral infection, i'll give you drops".
Initially i thought, does he diagnosed my eye properly, does the drops he gave are appropriate for the infection, because he just diagnosed for very less time, and also he is in a hurry to leave,
But after using the drops for only one day, the infection got reduced and now i'm fine, thanks to Dr.Ashok

My mother recently underwent cataract surgery for both her eyes at Dr. Ashok Eye Hospital, and we had an excellent experience. Since my mother is mostly immobile, the hospital staff went out of their way to make all the arrangements smooth and comfortable for her. Their pre- and post-operative care was truly commendable.
A special mention to Harini, who was extremely helpful in coordinating everything and clearly explaining the procedure, and to Dr. P. R. Balamurugan, who was very courteous, patient, and made the surgery process completely hassle-free.
Highly recommend this hospital for their professionalism, compassion, and excellent patient care.

I am visiting this hospital for almost two years going for a yearly review. Doctor is good in terms of his speciality. Problem is with optometrist who tests power and gives glasses. The lady staff first time did the test. No compromise in the money. paid what all they asked for to make sure i get the best quality. But when I got the glasses I got two problems 1. The near by screen monitor and its characters were looking bit blurred. eventhough a bit blurred I cannot ready any code/programs. I complained and they said they will correct the lens. It took 2-3 days and then it was looking slightly better but still had the light blur. they said i need to get progressive lens but I dont know why they did not diagonize this earlier. they asked me to keep the monitor or my seating distance to read it. I dont know why i need to change those because of their misdiagnosis. 2. the specs they gave had a misaligned screw near the foldings i asked them to correct it and they gave a different specs i waited since they said its coming from north india. poor quality check from their end. and all these days i spent around Rs 600 for Ola/Uber which they dont care about.
2. Fate or what, I went second time for changing my specs. the specs they gave they have buried the lens in a way that a mild tear happened in one of the edges. The thickness of my lens is more but I dont know if they have applied 200%of pressure to let it fit inside. but it lead to a tear in day 1 itself. After that as expected in a months' time lens came off.
I decided not to go with them especially for specs because uality for the price is not great. And even if the complain its manufacturers fault then why u r recommending us those specs. recommend something of good quality.
The next time I went to specsmakers near my house. the past experience with ashok eye hospital gave some light to ask right questions. i waited for two days till specsmakers ordered a 2k specs for me in buy one get one free offer. i was initially having a doubt. but the quality is definitely better than ashok eye hospital's recommendation. especially with our city's dust and sweat. main notable quality is paint on the specs doesnt come out of dust and sweat. they also suggested right thickness of the frame.
This is just for everyone to know about how things work with optometrist in ashok eye hospital. you may see the doctor but for specs and lens I STRONGLY DONT RECOMMEND THEIR INTERVENTION. 2 Stars only for the doctor. And I have already thrown their specs and glasses in the dustbin so unable to upload photos.

Hi All, I would like to share my feedback of Ashok eye hospital, mettukkuppam.
For last free months my mother had vision problems and we consumed nearby eye care clinics. All they have suggested is the cataract. We have been thinking where to do this cataract. Based on my relative feedback we heard this hospital has the surgery facility, also it is nearby my home and the surgeryrecovery is fast. Based on their feedback we visited this hospital last week.
Doctor diagnosed the problem calmly and explained the situation. He also suggested cataract surgery as it has grown where surgery is the only option.
We returned home and had discussion and finalized to undergo surgery in this hospital.
We went back to the hospital and requested what kind of test we need to take, so that we can plan the date for surgery.
Doctor prescribed certain test and we did home collection from nearby lab. We also took the eye scan from this hospital, post all the results we consumed doctor for the surgery date, type of lens and surgery cost.
Doctor clearly explained the packages and requested us to choose. Based on our convenience we chosen the lens, package and the date.
Add planned we arrived the hospital on time, the checked from their end and performed surgery. The procedure took not more than 20 mins and this hospital has ambulatory ward. Post surgery my mom arrived to ambulatory ward and stayed for an hour and they checked her eye post surgery and discharged her.
We were asked to come for rewrite the next day. We meet the doctor and doctor c checked her eye and performed eye test. Now she is able to see and read.
Overall i had good experience in this hospital and surgery was performed semelessly.

They charged rs 20,000 for spectacles for my daughter telling it's a miopic lens and after 6 months rechecking eye power , they are asking me to change the spectacles again for my daughter and telling me to spend another 20K. Worst existence 👎

Our recent visit was very worst experience
We had visited couple of weeks back and only had a small follow up dilution test pending and since my kid had exams couldn’t do on the grace time they had given.
We explained so much and requested them to waive off if possible on the follow up visit after the grace time they stated as there was no major test apart from just dilution test and they really didn’t bother to just be little considerate and made it look so bad
The entire experience was very shattering and worst. My kid was crying and none from the hospital bother to come forward and atleast make the kid little to be controlled and rather asked us to go out. Had one staff come forward to atleast console the child would have been little better
We have been going to their clinic past 4 yrs and really didn’t expect for this smallest thing they couldn’t be so considerate and look it so ugly

Today I called to book an appointment for an eye check-up, but the receptionist spoke very rudely. Her tone was irritating and unprofessional. Instead of helping, she said they would give me an appointment, but I wouldn’t be able to see the doctor at that time and would have to wait a long time. This kind of attitude is unacceptable, especially when someone is calling for a medical consultation. I hope the clinic improves their front desk service.

I have multiple problems in my both eyes such as ERM, Glaucoma & Floaters. Consulted Dr Ashok Rangarajan about 2 years back. Once in 6 months, I go for reviews.
Dr is very kind, gentle & professional. Very clearly explains my eye issues, so that I'm more confident now. I'm fully satisfied with his treatment. My wife underwent cataract surgeries for her both eyes. Her vision now is extremely superb & best part is that she could manage both long & short sight without glasses(at the age of 71).
To sum up, the hospital is very hygienic & maintain all safety standards for COVID. The entire team is very friendly & service minded.

Bad experience. The employees speak harshly. The front desk staff was irresponsible. they not answering properly (I came for my mother eye check up name Jegan matha ) the lady doctor it's good and explained clearly.

We had a fantastic experience with Dr. Ashok sir. We were initially forced into considering cataract surgery by a reputed eye hospital, Dr. Agarwal's Eye Clinic. However, we decided for secondary opinion & got to know about Dr. Ashok sir took the time to thoroughly review my mother's condition over 2 hours and then explained everything clearly in just 10 minutes. He concluded that cataract surgery was not necessary and instead recommended a simple increase in spectacle power. I recently underwent eye surgery at Ashok Eye Hospital performed by Dr. Ashok Rangarajan, and I am extremely pleased with the entire experience. From the initial consultation to the post-operative care, everything was handled with utmost professionalism and care.
Dr. Ashok is not only highly skilled but also very compassionate and took the time to thoroughly explain the procedure and answer all my questions . The surgery itself went smoothly, and I felt well-cared-for throughout the process.
